In a dramatic incident in the eastern India’s West Bengal, BJP candidate Pranat Tudu, who is from a Scheduled Tribe (ST) community, narrowly escaped a violent attack thanks to the timely intervention of central security forces.
The incident occurred in Jhargram, a district known for its political volatility on May 25.
Visuals showed how the the man was saved by the attack because of the central forces giving him protection and safely escorting him back to his vehicle.
Tudu was campaigning in the area when a group of individuals, allegedly supporters of the rival party, began pelting stones at him. The situation quickly escalated, posing a serious threat to Tudu’s life and safety.
The central forces, who have been deployed in the region to ensure a peaceful electoral process, acted swiftly. They formed a protective shield around Tudu, guiding him to safety and dispersing the violent crowd. Their prompt action prevented what could have been a tragic outcome.
This incident highlights the intense political rivalry in West Bengal, where clashes between political parties like the BJP and TMC are not uncommon. The state has a history of political violence, especially during election periods, making the role of central security forces crucial in maintaining order and protecting candidates from harm.

Pranat Tudu, visibly shaken but unharmed, expressed his gratitude to the central forces for their courageous and timely intervention.
