Leopard captured in barn of house in southern India

A leopard was captured from the barn of a house in southern India’s Karnataka.

This incident is reported to have happened in Kuppe village in Soraba, Shivamogga district on April 29.

Visuals showed a close-up view of the leopard. Some forest department officials climbed up the tiled roof of the house to capture the wild animal. The animal was given an injection to tranquilise it before it was captured. The wild animal was taken out in a cage. It had suffered injuries and was treated initially before being sent to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Zoo for further treatment.

The big cat was found in the house of a man named Shivkumar Gowda and the forest department swung into action after being informed about this. DFO Santosh Kenchappa ACF Praveen Kumar Basruru, RFO Javed Ahmed Angadi and local forest department participated in this operation.
