Massive fire breaks out at under-construction Central Secretariat common building in northern India
Fire erupted in waste material at a construction site in northern India’s New Delhi.
The incident took place near the Janpath roundabout on April 21.
Visuals showed smoke and flames coming out of the building while the firefighters were trying to douse it off.
According to Delhi Fire Service, “We received information about the fire incident at 6.01 pm. Shortly after receiving the information about the blaze, 8 fire services rushed to the spot.”
“We received several reports of a fire at the site. Six fire vehicles were dispatched, and it was determined that the fire originated from waste material. Our teams successfully extinguished the flames,” stated a DFS official.
The establishment is a component of the Central Vista project, a significant initiative undertaken by the Union government and presently in progress.
Following an alert received from the vicinity of Vayu Seva Bhavan on Kartavya Path near the Janpath roundabout, eight fire engines were promptly dispatched to the scene. Subsequently, the fire was successfully extinguished.
