Newly married couple showed up at a polling station adorned in their wedding finery to cast their votes in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident took place in Bhaderwah district on April 19  .

Visuals showed the bride, adorned in her complete wedding ensemble, led the way to the polling station, surrounded by her family members and other relatives. Her vibrant bridal attire shimmered under the sunlight, capturing the attention of all around her as she proudly exercised her right to vote.

In a heartwarming display of commitment to democracy, a newly married couple in Bhaderwah district of Jammu and Kashmir turned head as they arrived at polling stations dressed in wedding finery to exercise their right to vote.

Despite the festivities of their wedding ceremonies, the couple, with a sense of civic responsibility, made it a point to cast their votes on their special day, sending a powerful message about the importance of participating in the electoral process.

Bride accompanied by her groom adorned in traditional wedding attire, expressed their dedication to voting, stating, “Even amidst our wedding celebrations, voting remains our top priority. It is our moral responsibility to contribute to the democratic process and ensure our voices are heard.”
Earlier on Friday, amid rain, polling began in Udhampur constituency in 2,637 polling stations in the districts of Udhampur, Kathua, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar.
The second phase of LokSabha elections will be held on April 26, third phase on May 7, the fourth phase on May 13, fifth phase on May 20, sixth phase on May 25 and the seventh phase on June 1, 2024.
