Officials seize liquor worth $2,396, being illegally sold in southern India
Officials conduct raids on illegal liquor selling in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
 
The incident took place in Piduguralla town of Palnadu district on May 2.
Visuals showed liquor bottles lined up on the ground.
Kalpasri, the nodal officer of the Flying Squad, conducted raids and seized 1055 quarter bottles worth two lakh rupees (USD 2,396.20) from the bar, which were then handed over to Special Enforcement Bureau officials. As per the Bar Act, the bar owner is not authorized to sell liquor; therefore, the officials seized the bar in accordance with the regulations.

It is worth noting that there were political party pamphlets found alongside the seized liquor in the car. The party leaders who were caught transporting pamphlets featuring Kaasu Mahesh’s picture, along with the liquor bottles, aimed to influence voters during the election campaign.
