Overturned liquor van spills load worth lakhs in southern India, locals quick to gather

The incident took place near Rangampet, Puthalapattu mandal of Chittoor district on August 16.
Visuals showed the vehicle overturned and flipped, causing liquor bottles to break and spill, people were seen meticulously selecting the unbroken bottles. With a discerning eye, they chose the intact ones from the scattered collection, making sure not to miss any salvageable contents.
According to reports the vehicle carrying bottles of liquor lost control and overturned due to a tire burst. As a result, the liquor bottles in it fell to the ground. As the information spread in the area within a few minutes, the liquor lovers rushed to the place and picked up the bottles of liquor they received. While some were broken on the road, many competed for the rest.
The driver of the vehicle alleged that the crowd took liquor bottles worth around six lakhs INR (USD 8,219).
