In a fortunate incident, pilgrims who were struck on banks of a river in the mountains were safely rescued in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
The incident took place in Rudraprayag town on May 30.
As per reports, four pilgrims who were returning from the Kedarnath temple got stuck on the banks of the river Lincholi and Rambada. The SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund), upon receiving the information acted quickly and struggled through adverse conditions to rescue all the pilgrims one by one in the pitch darkness of night. The pilgrims reportedly took the path by the bank of the river thinking it to be a shortcut but got lost after the path ended and it turned dark by the evening.
The pilgrims expressed their gratitude to the SDRF team and returned to their safe place.
