Rescue officials come to the aid of people stranded in submerged houses in northern India

The officials of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the rescue of people who were stranded in their submerged houses after heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in northern India’s Uttarakhand.

This happened in Himmatpur under Kashipur area of Udham Singh Nagar district on August 22.

Visuals showed the officials at work as they saved the people who were trapped inside their houses. The whole area was completely flooded as a result of the heavy incessant rainfall and the SDRF officials evacuated these submerged houses and put the people on these boats, taking them to safety.

According to a report, the officials rescued around 60 people from the flooded area and took them at accomodation which was arranged at a primary school in Himmatpur. The officials led by SI Manish Bhakuni rushed to the spot with necessary equipment after learning about this. The rescue team comprised SI Manish Bhakuni, HC Khim Singh, CT Pradeep Mehta, Rajendra Nath, CT Ajit Singh and Rohit Parihar.
