Tragic bus accident claims lives of people as bus falls into ditch in northern India
by Komal KashyapIn a shocking incident, a major bus accident was seen claiming the lives of people as the bus fell into the ditch in northern India’s Uttarakhand.
The incident took place in Uttarkashi district on August 20.
As per reports, SDRF received information that a bus (UK 07 PA 8585) carrying passengers from Gujarat crashed into a ditch about 50 meters deep near Gangnani on District Uttarkashi-Gangotri National Highway. Upon receiving the information the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescue team led by Inspector Jagdamba Prasad as per instructions of Mr. Manikant Mishra, Commandant SDRF immediately left for the spot with rescue equipment. The rescue teams along with the help of local police and other rescue agencies initiated the search operation on all the 35 passengers who were present at the bus.
28 people were successfully rescued and were sent to the nearest hospital for further treatment while the bodies of those who lost their lives were handed over to the police.
