A cobra was captured and rescued after it strayed into a house in central India’s Chhattisgarh.

The incident is reported to have happened in Dadar area of Korba district on March 19.

Visuals showed renowned snake-catcher Jitendra Sarathi at work as he captured the reptile inside a plastic bottle, much to the relief of the family in whose house the creature was found. Sarathi caught the snake by its tail and gently put it inside the bottle.

According to a report, this incident happened in the Yadav family when a woman, Saraswati Yadav was preparing to cook. It was when she saw the snake with its hood up near the door of the room. Terrified, she and her family members then climbed up on top of a shelf and sat there while praying for the snake to leave the spot.

The family was however, able to get this news through to the neighbours who informed the forest department after which Sarathi and his team arrived and caught the snake. Interestingly, it was the same day that the Yadav family had moved into this rented accommodation.
