Tiger captured and rescued after it enters nursery in western India

In a shocking incident, a tiger was seen entering a residential area but was successfully rescued in western India’s Maharashtra.

The incident took place in the nursery of Agricultural Science Centre, Gadchiroli city on March 20.

Visuals showed the tiger first being tracked by the forest department team. The wild animal was tranquilised, put on a stretcher and taken into a vehicle.  As per reports, a tigress had entered the residential area of the city where it took shelter in a nursery. As soon as locals saw the tigress, the forest officials were informed immediately and they rushed to the spot. A sharpshooter and doctor were also made a part of the team who carefully darted the tiger unconscious.

According to a report, the wild animal probably entered the nursery while chasing a wild boar and couldn’t get out as the campus had a big compound wall around it. A Rapid Response Team (RRT) of Tadoba monitored the animal in the nursery before they tranquilised it.

All the necessary checks were made on tigress after which she was safely left in its natural habitat.
