Torrential flood sweeps away car in northern India

A total of five people were safely rescued after a car that they were travelling in, submerged in the water in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

This incident happened when the car was travelling from Baghani to Dera Baba in Reasi district on April 15

Visuals showed the horrifying signs of the car being swept away by the raging waters. The water flowed a strong current and the car absolutely didn’t stand any chance of attaining back control and moving away. The water took the car away with it even as the people were inside of it.

The five rescued were identified as driver Tariq Hussain, two women and two children. The police and locals combined to save the lives of these five people who were inside the car when it was caught in the waters.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway shut down on Monday due to landslides caused by rainfall. Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police cautioned against traveling as NH-44 was obstructed at Kishtwari Pather. This highway is vital as it links the valley to the rest of the nation.
