The incident took place at Chaubepur in Varanasi on May 22.
Visuals showed a father and his daughter waiting for a bus on the roadside. The girl, in a moment of distraction, stepped forward slightly. A speeding bike then hit her forcefully, throwing her into the air. Her father rushed to save her.
In the rural area of Chaubepur, Constable Karan Gupta and his daughter Kavya were waiting for a bus to Pandeypur on a busy road. According to SHO Chaubepur, Kavya moved slightly away from the roadside. At that moment, a speeding motorcyclist hit her forcefully, dragging her several meters before fleeing the scene.
The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, and the footage has since gone viral on social media. The video reveals the severity of the impact and the recklessness of the motorcyclist. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision was so intense that Kavya was thrown a considerable distance from the point of impact.
Immediately following the accident, the area descended into chaos. Constable Gupta rushed his severely injured daughter to the hospital, but tragically, the doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The devastating loss has not only shattered Kavya’s family but has also incited widespread anger and grief among the local community. In response, the police have launched an extensive search for the motorcyclist, utilizing CCTV footage and other investigative leads to track down the perpetrator.
