Truck with driver and helper rescued after rainfall leads to road being heavily-flooded in northern India

A truck along with its driver and helper trapped in a heavily-flooded road in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

This happened in Powayan town of Shahjahanpur district on July 5.

Visuals showed the truck almost completely submerged in the water as the road was left inundated by the overflowing river due to heavy rainfall. Locals caught sight of the truck inside the water from a distance. A child was seen cycling in the area which was comparatively less flooded as that of the spot where the truck was. According to a report, it rained hard for two whole hours on July 5 which led to the Bhainsi river overflowing and flooding the road. The driver and the helper inside the truck shouted for help and was eventually somehow rescued by the villagers. It has been learnt that this river has been dry for some time but the heavy rainfall led to it overflowing and flooding the road.

The Khutar-Powayan highway was completely submerged which led to the truck getting trapped in the middle of the flooded road. It was also learnt that schools in the area declared it a holiday due to the excessive rainfall.
