Villagers in northeast India showcase remarkable unity by rescuing truck from gorge

In an extraordinary display of community effort, villagers in northeastern India’s Nagaland, pulled a truck out of a deep gorge using ropes and sheer determination. 

The incident took place on January 10, 2021.

Visuals showed they used ropes and bamboo to secure and gradually pull the truck back to safety, an effort that was captured and is going viral on social media recently.

The truck, which was carrying ginger, had veered off the road and fallen into the gorge. The driver escaped with minor injuries, but the truck remained stuck. without any available machinery to assist in its recovery. Hundreds of villagers from the Kutsapo community in Phek district came together to solve the problem.

This remarkable feat was highlighted by Mmhonlumo Kikon, a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who praised the community’s unity and spirit. The video exemplifies the strength and solidarity of the villagers, serving as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people work together.
