Bus and auto-rickshaw drivers fight on Nepal border in northern India

Bus and auto-rickshaw drivers were embroiled in a conflict with each other on the Nepal border l over unloading of passenger’s goods in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

This incident happened in Gauriphanta area of Lakhimpur Kheri district on April 6.

Visuals showed the conflict which broke out between the two groups of people. The ones engaged in the fight stood atop a bus and argued as chaos broke out amongst them. These people shoved and shouted at each other and the conflict also involved women. A group of people stood below and watched the entire incident as it unfolded on the top of the bus.

According to a report, the bus had arrived from Palia and Gauriphanta when the auto-rickshaw drivers boarded the same and started to take out the passenger’s luggages and keep them in their vehicles so that the people to whom they belonged would hire their vehicles for travelling further. The bus driver and conductor protested and soon a conflict broke out. The groups fought and eventually it needed an intervention from the cops to calm things down.
