Elderly man loses hand after miscreant opens fire at him in northern India

A 65-year-old man lost his hand after another opened fire at him in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place in the Jajmau area of Kanpur district on July 10.

Visuals showed the man running behind another person with a large rifle. He chased him for a while and eventually fired a shot at him. The presence of onlookers panicked by the gunshot caused them to flee from the scene, fearing for their lives.

According to reports, the 65-year-old man lost his hand after the man opened fire at him from a licensed rifle over a petty dispute.

The injured man has been admitted to the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital in a critical state.

The incident took place when some children were playing in the sand dumped in front of the house of a person named Arshi.

  • When Arshi came out of the house and saw children playing and throwing sand at each other, he caught one of them and beat him up severely.When the boy reached home crying, his father Waseem and grandfather Sagheer reached Arshi’s house and lodged their protest. Annoyed by their words, Arshi brought his licensed rifle from home and opened fire at both of them.Wasim had hid under the bed but a bullet blew Sagheer’s palm. Arshi later fled the spot. Police have launched searches to arrest Arshi.
