Rescue official saves man who went for a swim in northern India

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) officials came to the rescue of a man who had gone for a bath in Kangra Ghat in Haridwar, located in northern India’s Uttarakhand.

This incident happened on July 15.

Visuals showed the man being dragged away by the strong current and the SDRF official in his pursuit. He eventually ends up catching up and rescuing him with a massive crowd by the ghat. According to a report, this man was part of a group of three who had gone for a dip in the ghat and he got carried away since he didn’t know how to swim properly. The SDRF official, Ashiq Ali, heard his screams and wasted no time in acting fast as he jumped into the water in his pursuit. Ali reportedly swam for around 150 metres while chasing the man and eventually ended up saving him.

Had he been slightly late, it could have led to a tragedy.
