Rescue officials save 21 trapped people from flooded area in western India

Officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) came to the rescue of 21 people who were trapped in a flooded area in western India’s union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

This happened in Dadra and Nagar Haveli on July 28.

Visuals showed the rescue operation underway in the dark of the night. The NDRF officials braved the inclement weather and carried out the rescue with flashlights and other equipment. Those rescued were made to wear life jackets and umbrellas were also used in the operation since it was raining continuously.

According to a report, the NDRF acted upon information received from the Dadra Nagar Haveli district headquarters. Out of the 21 people, six men, 12 women and three infants were rescued from the other side of the Talavali village in Khanvel.
