Woman brutally stabbed in college campus by assailant in southern India

Neha Hiremath, a 24-year-old woman was brutally stabbed to death by an assailant whose romantic proposal she had reportedly rejected, in southern India’s Karnataka.

This incident took place inside the KLE Technological University in Hubballi on April 18.

CCTV footage captured the chilling attack that the assailant launched on the woman. Neha was trying to escape from the assailant but the latter grabbed and pinned her down before stabbing her multiple times. This act was committed in broad daylight and seen by students of this college. There were three people at the spot who were left absolutely stunned to have witnessed such an attack right in front of their eyes. The attacker, after stabbing Neha several times, left her on the ground before fleeing from the spot. Later, people were seen carrying Neha’s body away as they attempted to help her receive medical attention.

According to a report, the victim Neha was a first-year student at the university and the accused Fayaz was her classmate. Neha’s body was later shifted to the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences and the cops have launched an investigation into this matter. Neha, the daughter of Niranjan Hiremath, a Congress councillor of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Another report states that Fayaz had made a romantic proposal to Neha which the latter rejected. Furious with the rejection, Fayaz decided to take up this extreme step and kill Neha. He was subsequently caught by the students who handed him over to the police.
