The incident is reported to have happened in the Kakrai village of Bairad forest area on April 10.
Visuals showed the black buck being pulled out of the well. A cot overturned and tied with ropes, was used to rescue the animal from the 60-feet deep well. The deer was tied with the ropes to the bed and it seemed to be unconscious after being pulled out.
According to a report, the forest department officials rushed to the spot after receiving this information. The deer was pulled out after an hour’s effort. A team led by Ajay Panchvedi, Deputy Ranger conducted the rescue operation. The rescue was done in a very crude manner with the limited resources available. Responding to the animal’s distress was the need of the hour.
Later, it was taken for examinations at the Bairad Veterinary Hospital and released safely after being found healthy. It was also learnt that the deer survived as the water level in the well was low.
